-Student Covid-19 Testing programme
Covid-19 National Testing Programme
Students currently attending school (vulnerable children and the children of critical workers) are invited to take part in weekly testing for Covid-19.
Students will be tested on a weekly basis. Once tested, parents will be emailed with a barcode that you need to register on the NHS website provided – you will only receive the result of the test if you register the barcode (details of how to register the barcode will be included in the email with the barcode).
If your child or a close contact tests positive, you child will need to self-isolate for 10 days and follow government guidance.
Here are details of the tests:
Upon students' return to face-to-face teaching in the Spring/Summer Term of 2021 (date yet to be announced), there is a planned programme of mass testing for Covid-19 in schools. Students will initially be tested twice (with a 3-5 day gap) and then on a weekly basis.
Staff will also be able to receive a weekly test.
Students under the age of 16 require parental consent, those 16 or over can self-consent.
